St. Spyridon & Gialiskari Bay – North Corfu

The beach of Ag. Spyridon is a beautiful, quiet beach with crystal clear waters. It is located on the north coast of the island and takes its name from a picturesque chapel located on the coast. In the area, you will find some restaurants, cafes, and hotels.

The nearest large resort (at a distance of about 4 km) is Acharavi, with many options for food, shops, and services.

The beach of Ag. Spyridona is located between the tourist resorts of Kassiopi and Acharavi, where you can find, in addition to a variety of tourist accommodations, all kinds of shops: banks, supermarkets, pharmacies, medical offices, etc.
It is also close to Almyros, in front of Antiniotis Lagoon.**

Sand-covered Agios Spyridon beach has received a Blue Flag for its crystal-clear waters. It offers water sports equipment, showers, and rental sun loungers and umbrellas. There are some Greek taverns serving both local and foreign cuisine right by the water. Tourists seeking seclusion during their vacations favor the area. The neighborhood of Agios Spyridon consists of two adjacent bays, both of which are sandy and have very shallow waters, making them ideal for families with young children.

If you want to enjoy more time in isolation, you can head to a quieter but unorganized beach, just 350 meters west, where you will find the small bay of Gialiskari, again with sand and shallow waters. The route is wonderful among tall pines. The road is, of course, not easily accessible by car, but it is not prohibitive either. A willingness to explore is required, but the journey will reward you richly. You will get an image of the area here.

You can also go to Almyros on foot via a coastal path that starts from Agios Spyridon. Another interesting place to visit in the area is the abandoned village of Perithia (10 km), which has apartments for accommodation as well as taverns.

** The Antinioti Lagoon is an important wetland in the area and is included in the European ecological network of protected areas, Natura 2000. It is overgrown with flowers and wild vegetation and is a heavenly setting for photos and nature walks. You should definitely take a walk around the lake if you are in the area. We are committed to making a more complete article related to this lake.
